I. Embryosis
Embryosis is my interpretation of Fashion Institute of Technology’s 2025 AAS capstone project theme, “Blank Canvas.”

This is a Critic Award winning piece and selected for display at the Fashion Institute of Technology museum.

-

The only restriction for this project was that the origial base fabric(s) had to start off white. From there, there was full creative freedom to manipulate the fabric into whatever form, allowing for unique personalized interpretations of the theme. I interpreted the theme as the “blank canvas” of a new human life—the formation of an embryo. All elements are intentional, each representing a different human feature. The main corset fabric is a white silk with fine textured lines that mimic the skin, which was then dyed in black tea for the flesh-like tint. The organza skirt drapes in a tail-like silhouette, similar to that of an embryo, with ruching to emphasize the cacoon shape.  On some panels of the corset, I used techniques such as cording for the illusion of muscles and tendons running along the body. Other elements such as the addition of synthetic hair, tea-dyed  fabric, mother-of-pearl beading, and lace/delicate fabrics all harmonize to personify the embryo.

Styling Work
Buckle  2025

I. Buckle Fall 2025 Storefront 2025
As a personal stylist and visual merchandiser at Buckle Bellevue, I have been in charge of updating and styling mannequins, following current trends and new items. Managing the visual design of the store intentionally to drive sales and create an efficient shopping environment has taught me to strategically think and apply my knowledge about the target customer and the brand vision.

More photos to come.
